Albright Hussey Manor Wedding Photographer
A look at a real wedding day at Albright Hussey Manor, Shrewsbury
What is a wedding day like at Albright Hussey Manor?
If you're planning your wedding at Albright Hussey Manor, you're probably wondering what the day might actually look and feel like.
So rather than simply telling you about the venue, I thought I'd show you.
This is Micah & Ben's wedding at Albright Hussey Manor in Shrewsbury, photographed from the excitement of the morning right through to the dance floor.
From the historic manor and gardens to the ceremony, drinks reception, portraits, speeches and everything that happened in between, this is a little glimpse into what a wedding day here can be like.
Getting ready at Albright Hussey Manor
The wedding day starts long before anyone walks down the aisle.
The morning is full of all the little things that can be easy to miss. Getting dressed, finishing touches, nervous excitement, champagne, laughter, family arriving and those quiet moments when it all starts to feel very real.
The groom arrives
While the final touches are happening upstairs, the groom arrives and the atmosphere starts to shift.
Guests begin to arrive, the drinks start flowing and there's that unmistakable feeling that something big is about to happen.
The Ceremony
And then, suddenly, it's time.
The conversations stop, everyone takes their seats and all eyes turn towards the entrance.
After all the anticipation of the morning, this is the moment it all becomes real.
Time to celebrate
And there's no better way to leave the ceremony than straight into a tunnel of confetti.
The nerves are gone, the formalities are over and the celebrations can properly begin.
One of the things that makes Albright Hussey Manor such a great place to photograph a wedding is the variety that's right on your doorstep.
The historic manor, the gardens, the grounds and the moat all give you completely different settings throughout the day, without ever having to go far.
Drinks Reception
After the ceremony, everything relaxes.
The champagne comes out, everyone starts catching up and you finally get a chance to take a breath and enjoy being surrounded by all your favourite people.
This is where I tend to step back and let things unfold naturally.
Couple Portraits
A little time for the two of you
Somewhere amongst all the celebrating, we'll find a few minutes for just the two of you.
Nothing overly posed and definitely no disappearing for hours. Just a little wander around the grounds, a chance to slow everything down and take it all in.
The photographs are important, but so is getting you back to your wedding.
The Wedding Breakfast
The room is ready, the drinks are flowing and it's time to sit down, eat, relax and enjoy the next part of the day.
The Evening, The First Dance & The Party!
As the day turns into evening, the atmosphere changes again.
The formalities are nearly done, the music gets louder and the dance floor starts to fill.
The first dance kicks things off, before the rest of the evening properly gets going. From big moments with everyone together to the slightly more chaotic moments on the dance floor, this is where the photographs become a little less polished and a lot more fun.
And honestly, that's exactly how it should be.
And if you're lucky... a little sunset magic
And if you're really lucky, the evening gives you one last gift.
A gorgeous sunset, a few minutes away from the party and the perfect excuse to sneak outside for a handful of photographs together.
Because sometimes, the best light of the day comes right at the end.
And that's a wedding day at Albright Hussey Manor.
There isn't really one photograph that tells the story.
It's the whole day.
The anticipation in the morning, the nerves before the ceremony, the people you love, the quiet moments together, the ridiculous ones on the dance floor and everything that happens in between.
That's what I want your wedding photographs to remember.
Let’s work together.
THE EXPERIENCE MATTERS TOO
Why couples choose me?
A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO GETS IT
Your wedding isn't a production, and it shouldn't feel like one. There’s direction when it’s needed, but never a script to follow. Knowing when to step in and when to let things happen is all part of it.
A CALM HEAD
Weddings rarely go exactly to plan, and that's alright. Knowing what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and when to simply leave things alone is all part of the job.
PHOTOGRAPHS WITH FEELING
The photographs should look great, but they should also take you straight back to the people, the laughter, the nerves, the ridiculous moments and everything that made the day yours.
SOMEONE YOU'LL LIKE HAVING AROUND
You'll spend a lot of your wedding day with your photographer, so getting on matters. The aim is simple: make you feel comfortable, have a proper laugh, take great photographs and let you get on with enjoying the day.
REAL COUPLES. REAL WORDS.

"A thoroughly nice person and I consider him an integral part of making our wedding so special"
Not only is Jamie an incredibly talented photographer, he has a real way with people and it felt like having another friend at our wedding.
He went above and beyond on our wedding day and was so helpful to have around. He has a very calming presence and when organising group shots he was very efficient and made it lots of fun.
He is also a thoroughly nice person and I consider him an integral part of making our wedding so special.
