Netley Hall Wedding in Shropshire | Elegant Winter Celebration
Beautiful winter wedding at Netley Hall in Shropshire. Frosty morning, golden hour portraits and elegant styling by Jamie Ricketts Wedding Photography.
Winter Wedding at Netley Hall, Chris and Nicole
A beautiful frosty winter wedding at Netley Hall in Shropshire. Nicole and Chris celebrated with elegant styling, golden hour portraits, and heartfelt family moments.
A Frosty November Wedding at Netley Hall
Late November 2025 gave us one of those perfect crisp winter mornings at Netley Hall Estate. The grounds were covered in frost, the sky was clear, and the low winter sun lit the venue in the best possible way.
Nicole and Chris chose to hold their ceremony at Netley Hall, keeping everything in one place. The elegant interiors paired beautifully with their styling, red, pink and white florals by Katrina Creates, which popped against the seasonal backdrop and even complemented the Christmas trees inside the hall.
It felt refined, warm and effortlessly stylish from start to finish.
An Elegant Winter Look
Chris wore a white tux, and their son matched with him (who completely stole the show). Nicole’s look was delicate and beautifully timeless, with flawless makeup by Aimee Paige Makeup and stunning hair styling from Emmie Victoria Hair. Every detail worked together without feeling overdone.
The morning had that calm, excited energy. Light pouring in through the windows, final touches being added, and quiet emotional moments before the ceremony.
A Ceremony Full of Emotion
What stood out most throughout the day was how much Nicole and Chris adore each other. It was obvious in the way they looked at one another, in the way they held hands during the ceremony, and in the quiet moments in between everything else.
Those are the moments that matter. The ones that show up in the photographs long after the confetti has been cleared away.
They also included thoughtful touches, gifts from Chris to his groomsmen, and flowers presented to both of their mums, which added another layer of meaning to the day.
Cigars and a Sock Attack…
In the evening, guests gathered outside for cigars, which turned into one of the more entertaining parts of the night. That was quickly followed by what can only be described as a sock ambush, one guest roaming around with a sock on his hand, grabbing people unexpectedly. Strange, yes. Memorable, absolutely.
Inside, DJ Third Generation kept the dance floor full, and the whole day felt like one big celebration of family. Chris, well known locally as the manager of Anytime Fitness in Telford, had plenty of familiar faces in the room. Seeing everyone rally around them, especially their little boy, was something special.

A Dreamy Shropshire Wedding at Hopton Court Estate
If you're planning a wedding at Hopton Court Estate, this Shropshire celebration will give you plenty of inspiration. From the dreamlike orangery ceremony to handmade details and Scottish touches, every part of the day felt intentional and heartfelt.
A Dreamy Day at Hopton Court Estate
When you step into a wedding like Poppy and Ben’s, you realize pretty quickly you’re in for something truly special. Held at the beautiful Hopton Court Estate, a gem tucked away between Ludlow and Kidderminster, the day was a gorgeous blend of elegance and personal touches.
Scottish Traditions and Citrus Themes
They chose the estate’s orangery for their ceremony, and honestly, it was like something straight out of a dream with tons of natural light, a warm atmosphere, and that feeling that you’re in a place where every corner has a story. Poppy’s Scottish heritage brought a lovely layer of tradition, with kilts, bagpipes, and all those little touches that made the day feel like a heartfelt nod to their roots. There was even a fun, citrusy theme running through the day… yes, we’re talking about oranges, the fruit! It added this bright, cheerful vibe to the whole celebration.
Handcrafted Details and Timeless Elegance
Every detail felt hand-chosen and meaningful. They had an incredible spread from Honey and Walnut Grazing caterers, and the whole vibe was one of warmth and togetherness. Poppy wore a stunning vintage dress from Ashwell & Co vintage bridal shop, paired with a 1920s veil, and you could just feel the timeless elegance in the air. Her Mum did the flowers by hand, and Poppy did her own makeup, which just shows how personal everything was.
A Shropshire Wedding to Remember
In the end, this wedding was exactly what you’d hope for if you’re dreaming of a Shropshire celebration, it was heartfelt, unique, and full of those moments that make for truly unforgettable photos. It’s the kind of day that reminds you why capturing weddings in a place like this is such a joy. And if you’re searching for a Shropshire wedding photographer who loves telling these kinds of stories, well, you’ve found the right place.
One quote from the day really stuck with me: “All our family and friends in one room together, worlds colliding in the best way.” And that’s exactly what it felt like… just pure joy and connection.

Shropshire Wedding Photographer at The Barns at Delbury Hall
Shropshire wedding photographer at The Barns at Delbury Hall. Natural, romantic barn wedding photography for couples planning a Delbury Hall or countryside wedding in Shropshire.
Natural, Elegant Wedding Photography at One of Shropshire’s Most Beautiful Barn Venues
If you’re planning your wedding at The Barns at Delbury Hall and looking for a Shropshire wedding photographer who understands barn venues, natural light and relaxed, romantic styling, this shoot will give you a real feel for what’s possible.
I recently photographed a collaborative content shoot at The Barns at Delbury Hall in Craven Arms, one of the most sought after barn wedding venues in Shropshire. While this was a styled session, everything you see here reflects how I approach real wedding days, natural moments, beautiful light and a calm, organised team of suppliers working seamlessly together.
Why The Barns at Delbury Hall Is Perfect for Wedding Photography
The Barns at Delbury Hall offers everything you would want from a Shropshire barn wedding venue. Characterful brickwork, soft countryside surroundings and incredible natural light throughout the day.
For couples searching for a Delbury Hall wedding photographer, light and layout matter. The barns allow space for relaxed morning preparations, elegant ceremony setups and quiet portrait moments without ever feeling rushed. The neutral tones also mean florals, dresses and styling photograph cleanly and beautifully.
Knowing how to use these spaces properly is key. As a Shropshire wedding photographer, I always look for natural movement, flattering light and authentic interaction rather than overly staged poses.
A Collaborative Shoot Designed for Real Inspiration
This shoot brought together a trusted team of Shropshire wedding suppliers.
Makeup by Lucy Brooke created a soft, glowing bridal look that photographs beautifully in both close detail and full length portraits. Bridal Hair by Liz Dunn styled timeless hair that held its shape while still feeling effortless. Goldberry Flowers added romantic, textured florals that complemented the rustic warmth of the venue. The gown from TDR Bridal Birmingham brought classic elegance that worked perfectly within the barn setting.
Although this was a content day, the approach was the same as a real wedding. Natural movement. Genuine expression. No forced posing.
For couples planning a Delbury Hall wedding, this shows how the venue looks when thoughtfully styled and professionally photographed.
Choosing the Right Shropshire Wedding Photographer
If you are searching for a Shropshire wedding photographer for Delbury Hall or another barn venue in the area, experience matters.
Barn weddings require someone who understands:
Changing natural light
Warm indoor tones
Fast moving timelines
Relaxed but organised direction
Working regularly across Shropshire means I understand how to adapt to countryside venues, shifting weather and different ceremony spaces while keeping the day calm and enjoyable for you.
Most importantly, your wedding photography should feel like you. Emotional, natural, and timeless.
Planning Your Wedding at Delbury Hall or in Shropshire?
Whether you are booking The Barns at Delbury Hall or another Shropshire wedding venue, choosing suppliers who already know the area and work well together makes a real difference.
If you are currently looking for a Delbury Hall wedding photographer or a Shropshire wedding photographer for your barn wedding, I would love to hear about your plans and see if we are the right fit.

Petals or Paper? The Wedding Confetti Debate
Petals or paper? Wedding confetti seems simple until you’re choosing it. Here’s an honest breakdown of dried petals vs biodegradable paper confetti, what looks best in photos, what venues prefer, and what’s kinder to the environment.
Choosing confetti for your wedding? Here’s what actually matters when deciding between dried petals or biodegradable confetti, and how each affects your photos and the environment.
Couples ask about confetti all the time, usually because venues have rules and Google gives very mixed answers. The two most common options are dried petal confetti and biodegradable tissue paper confetti. Both are widely used, both are sold as eco friendly, and both can look beautiful.
I’ve photographed genuinely lovely confetti moments with both options, and this isn’t about right or wrong, it’s about what suits your day best.
Here’s the honest breakdown.
Dried Petal Confetti 🌿
If you’re prioritising a natural, low impact option, dried petals are a great choice. They’re real, they break down naturally, they don’t stain, and venues are generally very happy with them.
From a photography point of view, they’re a little more subtle. Petals tend to fall faster, can clump together, and sometimes blend into the background, especially on darker outfits or lower contrast settings.
That said, I’ve photographed plenty of weddings where petal confetti looks soft, joyful, and perfectly suited to the setting, especially outdoors or in relaxed, countryside locations.
It’s also worth saying that dried petals smell amazing, which is a rare win for something that gets thrown in your face!
Biodegradable Tissue Paper Confetti 🎉
From a purely visual point of view, biodegradable paper confetti often creates a bigger, more dramatic look. It floats for longer, spreads wider, and gives that celebratory burst people imagine when they picture a confetti moment.
Many of my couples choose paper confetti and love the energy it brings to their photos. While it is biodegradable, it’s still processed paper and often dyed, which means some venues are stricter about it and it can involve a bit more clearing up.
So, which should you choose?
Here’s the honest answer. Both options work beautifully.
Dried petals tend to suit couples leaning towards a natural, low impact feel, while biodegradable paper confetti usually creates a bolder visual moment in photos. The right choice depends on your venue, your priorities, and the overall feel of your day.
Whatever you chose, it will be right for your wedding. The moment matters far more than the material.
A quick pro tip
Whatever confetti you go for, buy more than you think you need and ask guests to throw it up, not directly at faces. Your photographer will quietly thank you.
Confetti doesn’t always behave. Here’s proof.
Wind happens. Timing happens. Occasionally confetti decides one person deserves all of it. These are the moments that don’t make the Pinterest boards but do make me laugh every time.

Welcome to the Wedding of Jade and John at High Grosvenor House, Bridgnorth.
Jade and John—now the Estabrooks—tied the knot in true style at the beautiful High Grosvenor House in Bridgnorth. From the very start, their wedding was infused with personality, heart, and a shared love of music that echoed through every detail.
The day began in the main house, where Jade and her bridal party got ready in one of the most elegant spaces you could wish for on a wedding morning. Light-filled and full of charm, it set the perfect tone for the celebrations ahead.
Although the Spring weather kept everyone guessing, the skies cleared at just the right moments. We were lucky enough to capture some stunning portraits of the couple beneath the blossom tree, with the moody clouds adding a cinematic edge to the shots.
Inside, their love of music came to life through thoughtful table decor and styling choices that felt effortlessly cool and completely ‘them’. The evening finished with a high-energy party, complete with sparklers and a whole lot of dancing—a perfect end to a day that was as unique and joyful as the couple themselves.

Tents, Tunes and Love: A Countryside Powys Wedding to Remember
Elliot and Laura

Welcome to the Wedding of Elliot and Laura at Garth Barns in Llanidloes, Powys.
Nestled in the rolling hills of Llanidloes, Powys, Garth Barns and Country House provided the most breathtaking setting for Laura and Elliot’s wedding—a celebration that perfectly balanced rustic charm with heartfelt intimacy.
Laura and Elliot put their personal touch on every detail of the day, planning much of the wedding themselves. Their hands-on approach gave the entire celebration a warmth and authenticity that made it truly special.
Though the weather threatened to play its part, the couple held firm in their wish for an outdoor ceremony—and it was a decision that paid off. Beneath soft autumn light and surrounded by sweeping Welsh countryside, guests gathered for a ceremony that was both personal and deeply moving.
Sian Allen, their celebrant, brought a unique and thoughtful energy to the ceremony, weaving in the couple’s story with sincerity and grace. One particularly touching moment came as the wedding rings were passed among the guests, allowing each person to offer a quiet blessing or thought for Laura and Elliot before they exchanged vows. Pianist Robbie Roberts provided a beautiful soundtrack, adding even more emotion to an already heartfelt moment.
Shortly after the ceremony, the skies opened—but even a downpour couldn’t dampen the spirits. Guests moved seamlessly into the marquee, where the celebrations continued in full swing. Incredible food, laughter, and dancing filled the space, with Fourphit Party Band providing the perfect soundtrack to an unforgettable evening.
Laura and Elliot’s day was a testament to trusting your instincts, leaning into the beauty of the season, and celebrating love with those who matter most. It was a joy to be a part of.

Welcome to the Wedding of Juan and Lily at Dudgeley Farm in Church Stretton, Shropshire.
A Summer Celebration of Two Cultures: Juan & Lily’s Wedding in Church Stretton
Juan and Lily’s wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, heritage, and togetherness—set against the rolling hills of Shropshire at the picturesque Dudgeley Farm. The couple met while studying at Bristol University, and chose to marry in Lily’s hometown of Church Stretton, surrounded by the landscapes she grew up with.
The ceremony took place at Saint Michael and All Angels C of E Church, just next door to Lily’s family home. The morning was beautifully calm and intimate, filled with quiet moments as Lily prepared for the day in the house where she’d spent her childhood.
From the outset, their wedding was a seamless blend of cultures. Juan, originally from Ecuador, brought a vibrant Spanish flair to the day—from the music and colour palette, to the warmth and energy of the celebrations. These elements contrasted and complemented the traditional Shropshire countryside details, creating something truly unique.
One of the most touching moments came during the speeches, when Lily, along with her father, both addressed guests in Spanish. It was a powerful gesture—one that captured the spirit of the day and the couple’s journey. Two families, two cultures, and two people coming together with grace and love.
Set beneath a soft summer sky, surrounded by nature and loved ones, Juan and Lily’s wedding was more than a union—it was a celebration of connection and belonging.

Penny and Oli
Market Drayton Wedding
Welcome to the Wedding of Penny & Oliver at their perfect Home Farm Wedding Hodnet, Market Drayton.
When I first met these guys and they described their Wedding to me, it genuinely sounded too good to be true. However, when I tell you the level of detail they both went to making their Wedding happen, they pulled off one of the most incredible Festival style Weddings you could have imagined!
They started the day off very traditionally at the stunning St Luke’s Church in Hodnet, then travelled to their family home at Kenstone Manor, which hosted a huge Tipi surrounded by a breathtaking garden lake…not to mention glamping provided for their guests! Each guest even had their own festival wrist band, that’s the amount of detail we are talking about here!
What I loved though about Penny and Oliver is that they are two down to earth, hard working, honest people who are a joy to be around. They have the most wonderful family and friends behind them, and being childhood sweet hearts made this a huge milestone in their lives.
