Baked Bean, Ironbridge

If you find yourself wandering through Ironbridge and catch the smell of fresh coffee and warm pastries in the air, chances are you’ve found Baked Bean.

The new café is the latest venture from Shropshire lad and fire cooking legend Adam Purnell, and it’s already becoming one of those places people talk about after just one visit. The counter is packed with the kind of things you actually want when you walk into a bakery, great coffee, proper cakes, fresh pastries, stacked sandwiches, and plenty of temptation.

What really makes Baked Bean stand out though is the atmosphere. The branding is spot on, the space feels welcoming the moment you step inside, and it has that relaxed, independent café vibe that makes you think you’ll just grab a coffee and then realise you’ve been there an hour.

Ironbridge has plenty of character already, but this place fits the town perfectly. It’s the sort of café you’ll pop into once and then keep coming back to.

As a Shropshire photographer and Shropshire commercial photographer, I love documenting independent businesses like this. Places that have personality, strong branding, and a real story behind them are always great to photograph.

The images below were captured by Jamie Ricketts Photography, highlighting the atmosphere, the food, and the small details that make Baked Bean such a great addition to Ironbridge.
